Megadyne Smoke Evacuator System

All the features of the MEGADYNE Mega Vac Smoke Evacuator with the addition of laparoscopic capabilities. The MEGADYNE Mega Vac PLUS Smoke Evacuator removes plume for a clear field of vision, removing potentially hazardous materials without deflating the pneumoperitoneum. It can also be used to evacuate CO2 gas at the end of the procedure through the filtering system.

Surgical smoke can decrease site visibility and impact air quality in surgical suite. The megadyne Smoke Evacuation was designed to reduce surgical smoke for improved visibility and a cleaner OR environment.
Electrosurgical smoke has been shown to contain many potentially harmful comonents including:

a. Toxic gas & vapours.

b. Bioaerosols, including dead & living cell material, blood fragments and viruses.

c. Mutagenic and carcinogenic compounds.

It used in both open & laparoscopic cases.
The smoke condensate from burning 1 gram of tissue has been shown to be equivalent to that of up to 6 unfiltered cigarettes.
